Alan J. Pakstis

d. September 22, 2024

Worcester: Alan J. Pakstis, 81, of Worcester, died on September 22 at home following a long illness.  He leaves his wife of 55 years, Lenore (Murphy) Pakstis, his daughter Tracey Wozniak and her husband Jeffrey with whom he lived during his final years in Paxton; his granddaughter Caitlin Claiborne and her fiancé Alyssa Sanchez; his grandson Alan (A.J.) Claiborne; his sisters Cindy Hatch of Tucson, AZ and Patricia Stephens of Bedford, MA; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debbie and Jim Nelson; and his nephew and Godson Michael Graziano of Chicago, IL.

Alan was born in Cambridge Massachusetts to Alphonse and Anne (Raza) Pakstis.  He grew up in Concord, MA and graduated from Lexington High School in 1961.  He served many years in the submarine service for the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, he took a job in Chicago and met the love of his life, Lenore, and they married in 1969.  He built a career in sales and owned his own company for many years, eventually moving back to Massachusetts in 1978.  Al loved people and loved to travel, which led to many successes over the years. Al was a true New Englander.  He was always outside either skiing, swimming, boating or working around the house.  He was most at home on the beach and in the water. He had a passion for sailing and working on older cars and had great skill and knowledge of both. An avid Bruins fan, he spent many years attending and watching games with his daughter.  As a father, he never missed a softball game, horse show or school event. He delighted in being a grandfather and spending time at the Cape and on the beach with his grandchildren.  Always quick with a joke or funny story, people loved to be around him as he could make anyone comfortable in any situation.

There will be no services at this time per his request. There will be a celebration of life for Alan later in the year.
