SPENCER: Alayne S. (Smith) (Huberdault) Fisher, 88, quietly passed away on Thursday, November 5th at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was a valiant warrior for 15 years of Parkinson's disease which she succumbed to. She was lovingly cared for the last 29 years by her partner, Roger R. Picard, who saw her light right till the end. We are grateful.

Alayne was the daughter of Alfred & Maude Smith. She was named after a gladiola flower -Alayne- that her father grew. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is rejoined in Heaven with her son, Roland R. Huberdault, daughter Karrie (Huberdault) Nason and grandson Adam D.V. Huberdault, her sister Carol Black and brother Alfred Smith. She leaves her son David (Annmarie) Huberdault of Spencer, daughters; Deborah (Brian) Spafford, Kimberly Longvall of Rutland, Justine (Larry) Poole of Oklahoma City, 8 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She worked tirelessly at many local health care facilities including the Jewish Home and the Life Care Center of Auburn, She was a former Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and an interpreter at Boston Harbor Lighthouse. She was very proud of her service to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and of her English heritage. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed but her struggle is now over and she is finally gone home to her eternal rest.

At the family's request, funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton are private and at the convenience of the family.
