SPENCER: Ann M. (Meloche) Loftus, 89, died Saturday, August 23rd at UMass Hospital Lake Ave. Campus in Worcester. She was the wife of Stephen H. Loftus, Jr. who died in 1999. She leaves a son, Timothy S. Loftus of Oxford, three daughters, Maggie E. Loftus of Essex Junction, VT., Susan K. Gauthier and her husband Stephen of W. Boylston, Lucia Madajova-Wind of Fairfax, VA, six grandchildren; Caitlin Skinner, Sam Loftus, Bridget LeBlanc, Erin Loftus, Nolan Gauthier, Katie Gauthier, five great-grandchildren; Madison, Sophie, Logan, Jack and Charlie and nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Charles & Katherine (Nolan) Meloche, Sr. Ann was a schoolteacher at the David Prouty Intermediate School in Spencer for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a graduate of David Prouty High School, in Spencer, Class of 1953 and Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Class of 1957. She was a member of the MA Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at Hope Lodge, Why Me & Sherry's House and the Hanover Theater. The funeral will be held Friday, August 29th from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7 P.M. in the funeral home.
