Anne Ruth Landry

LEICESTER: Anne Ruth (Geary/Tivnan) Landry, 80, of Leicester MA, died on Friday, May 31st in St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, following a brief illness. Her husband and love of her life, Bob Landry, died in 2000.

She is survived by her sons; Bobby (Dale), Chris (Charleen), and David Tivnan, her daughter Kelly Rice (Chris). She was an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren; Matthew, Emily, Leah, Stephanie, Erin, Anna, Joseph, Benjamin, Caitlin, Falon, Lynne, Blake and a great-granddaughter Violet, as well as her brothers; Paul Geary, Stephen Geary, Billy Geary, and sisters; Dianne Care, Donna Merriman, Elaine Urbec, and Laura Stapleton-Geary.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of William and Estelle (Boisseau) Geary. She graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and worked many years as a nurse. Anne spent many years working with mothers and babies at Hahnemann Hospital, where she met two of her best lifelong friends, Martha Wilkins and Rita Wesolowski. As a mother of four, she went on to earn her BSN from UMASS Amherst. Anne enjoyed so many things including gardening and cooking for her family. She and Bob enjoyed having company over to eat, especially their Harvest Dinners which was something she always talked about fondly. She also enjoyed the beach, the lakes, vacationing at Anna Maria Island, traveling with her good friends and sisters, watching Jeopardy with her 'downstairs family', and a good glass of wine. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren grow- always inspiring them to follow their dreams.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6th at 6pm in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 MAIN ST., LEICESTER. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00-6:00 pm.
