NO.BROOKFIELD: Arthur St. Denis of No. Brookfield, was called to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 29th. He leaves his wife of 68 years, Jeanne M. (Leveillee) St. Denis, his 3 daughters, Karen MacCracken of Sturbridge, Deborah Hubacz and her husband Michael of North Brookfield, Brenda Johnson and her husband Robert of Johns Creek, Georgia, and his son, Michael St. Denis and his wife Zeenat Edelmann of West Boylston; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Andrew St. Denis; his parents, Lorenzo and Corinne (Gagnon) St. Denis; 3 brothers Ernest, Lawrence, and Leo St. Denis; and 2 sisters Rita Coonan and Lucille Sanborn.
Arthur grew up in Rochdale and lived most of his life in North Brookfield, where he and Jeanne raised their four children. Arthur was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, canoeing on Brooks Pond, and target shooting.
In his career he advanced from machinist to tool and die maker and then design engineer. He owned his own tool and die company for several years. He was an expert and highly respected in his field. His name is on numerous patents.
In every area of his life he pursued precision and excellence with a high level of integrity. He was dependable and loyal with a great sense of humor. He was a true patriot and honored to have served his country in The Army Corps of Engineers.
He was a lifetime member of The Knights of Columbus as well as a member of St. Joseph's Church in North Brookfield.
The funeral will be held on Monday November 4th from the J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr. Spencer, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 296 N. Main St,. North Brookfield. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Sunday November 3rd from 2-4 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN.38105.
