Arthur H. Labaire

LEICESTER: Arthur H. LaBaire,92, formerly of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester and Cortez, Fl., died Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster.

He was the husband of Julia (Budra) LaBaire who died July 8, 1988. He leaves his daughters Susan Dutra of Westport, and Rosemary Cavanagh and her husband William of Cherry Valley, grandchildren Stephen and Michelle, Andrew, Daniel and Sarah Rose,Eliza, Jesse, Jennifer, Rosemary and Emily, his sister Bernadette Conzo. He leaves numerous, beloved great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sons Arthur H. LaBaire, Jr. and John Peter LaBaire, five brothers, Leander, Lionel, Wilfred, Archie and Alexander LaBaire, and three sisters Lucille Monfils, Beatrice Bates and Theresa Hattnett.

Arthur was born and raised in Worcester, the son of William and Celanire (Adams) LaBaire. While living in Cherry Valley, he was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Parish, where he was a weekly communicant, and served on many committees. In 1999, he moved to Cortez, Fl., where he lived the good life for 20 years, relaxing, fishing, boating and partying with wonderful friends.

He served his country in the Army from November of 1942 to October 1945, in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He earned the Silver Star.

Arthur, "Pa", will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His quick wit, silly songs, deep love for his children, their children and grandchildren, will always remain in our hearts.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 759 Main St., Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will precede the funeral on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30a.m.in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Nazareth McCauley Home for Boys, 77 Mulberry St., Leicester, Ma. 01524.
