SPENCER: Arthur S. Locke, Jr. 86 of Lincoln St., died Tuesday, March 1 at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Worcester.
He was the husband of Joyce J. (Archambeault) Locke who died in 2009. He leaves his sons Richard A. Locke and his wife Donna and William C. Locke and his wife Muriel all of Spencer, four grandchildren Celeste Locke of Wichita, Kansas, Ana Douglas and her husband Jason of W.Brookfield, Benjamin Locke and his fiance Jessica Cirba and Christopher Locke all of Spencer, 4 great grandchildren Shane, Bryce, Riley and Davin, several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by brothers Frank, Albert and Lauriston Locke and sisters Hazel Osborne, Thelma Hilton and Faye Taft.
Arthur was a machinist for 28 years at Jamesbury Corp. in Worcester before retiring in 1995.
Born in Franklin, Ma., he was the son of Arthur S. and Alice J. (Stevens) Locke, Sr. and later served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.He He enjoyed traveling with the love of his life Joyce, flower & vegetable gardening and time with family, especially his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Healthcare for their compassion and care while Arthur was a resident.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4 at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the service on Friday from 9:30 to 11a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Spencer Firefighters Association, 11 W.Main St., Spencer Ma. 01562.
