WORCESTER/LEICESTER: Bertha S. (Seman) Smith, 86, of 11 Marble St., formerly
of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Monday, June 11 at the
Meadows of Leicester.
She was the wife of Arthur M. Smith who died in 1989. She leaves a son
Clifford A. Smith of Cherry Valley, a grandson Marc Smith and his wife
Kelly, and a great grand daughter Alexandra Smith all of Rutland.
Mrs. Smith was a time keeper at the former Crompton & Knowles Corp. in
Worcester where she worked for 35 years prior to retirement. She graduated
from Leicester High School and was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Anthony and Josephine
(Vaitchulis) Seman.
Private funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park,
Paxton, were held on Thursday, June 14. There were no calling hours. In lieu
of flowers, contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute,
Attn:Gift Processing, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, Ma. 02446. MORRISON-MORIN
FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is directing arrangements.
