Betty M. Spigelmire

WEST BROOKFIELD: Betty M. (Grimm) Spigelmire, 91, of West Brookfield, died peacefully at home Thursday, October 1st. She was the wife of the late Michael Spigelmire, who died in 2011.

She leaves her son, John Lazenby and his wife, Anne, of Yorba Linda, CA; her daughters, Pamela Smith and her husband, Larry, of West Brookfield, MA, Cynthia Bell and her husband, Rick, of Arroyo Grande, CA, and Denise Gendron and her husband, Chris, of York, PA; her grandchildren, Logan, Sean, Cameron, Scott, Kyle, David, Samuel, John, Melissa, Christina, Alison, Sarah, April, Amanda, and Marina; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bridget Lazenby, who died in 2025.

Born in Gifford, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Grace Marie (Bartell) Grimm.

Betty worked in sales for Sears, Roebuck and Co. She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church.

Betty loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was affectionately called Oma. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and fervently prayed for her family and her church. She showed love and compassion to all who knew her and shared the gospel to everyone she met her entire life. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We look forward to being reunited with her in heaven around the throne of Christ.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, at 10 a.m. in Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant St., Rochdale. Burial will follow in Greenville Baptist Cemetery, Rochdale.
