SPENCER: Brian T. Holland, 58, of Spencer and formerly of Leicester, passed away Thursday, June 18, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his son, Timothy B. Holland of Auburn; his daughter, Crystal R. Holland of California; and many beloved friends whom he cherished and stayed connected with throughout the United States and around the world. He was predeceased by his brother, John Holland.
Brian founded Holland Hardwood Floors in 1989 and proudly owned and operated the company in Leicester for 37 years, now operated by his son proudly. Through hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship, he built a respected local business and a legacy that continues today. He was born in Worcester, the son of George and Maryjane Starr Holland, and was a graduate of Leicester High School. He proudly served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.
Brian was a longtime stand-up comedian who brought laughter to countless people through performances at charitable events, fundraisers, and community gatherings throughout the area. He was known for his generosity, quick wit, and willingness to help others. He was a member of the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443.
Brian will be remembered as a devoted father, proud Army veteran, successful business owner, gifted comedian, and loyal friend who never hesitated to stand up for others or lend a helping hand. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, June 26, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main St., Leicester. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church.
