Candace E. "Candy" Dunbar

LEICESTER: Candace E. "Candy" (Horne) Dunbar, 67, died Wednesday, January 31 in UMass Memorial Medical Center after an illness.
Her husband of 30 years, Douglas C. Dunbar died in 2003. She leaves a son Christopher E. Dunbar and his wife Aubree of Webster, a daughter Julie E. Dunbar of West Brookfield, four grandchildren; Eric, Leah, Elaina and Emily and her best friend of 50 years Jan Darling of Lyman, Maine.
Candy was born in Worcester, daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Grant) Horne. She graduated from Leicester High School, Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT and Salter Secretarial School in Worcester. She worked as a secretary for several area colleges. She was a former member of the Leicester First Congregational Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed reading.
A graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester in the Spring at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Suite 745, Boston, MA 02215. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing funeral arrangements.
