EAST BROOKFIELD: Christopher P. Orne, 69, of Jean Ave., died Monday, June 7 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Cheryl A. (Wentworth) Orne, three daughters; Jody Corbett, Monique Wilkins, and Jessica Strang and her husband David, three sons; Matthew Orne, Benjamin Orne and Nathaniel Orne, a brother Jonathan Orne and his wife Marti, three sisters; Susan Laperriere and her husband Robert, Deborah Orne, and Natalie Brackett and her husband Stephen, nine grandchildren; Ethan, Tricia Belle, Xavier, Cooper, Olivia, Oliver, including three whom he and Cheryl adopted and raised as their own; Adam, Alex and Andrew, several nieces and nephews.

Christopher was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, son of Laurence and June (Leavitt) Orne. He graduated from Billerica Memorial High School. He was a master technician at Honda Village in Newton for many years before he retired in 2016. He was a fierce competitor as a young man. Building and racing hydroplanes, all around the country and in Canada. He was a talented drummer, bass player, guitarist, and singer. He was also a lifelong hobby enthusiast, creating many remote controlled cars, boats, planes and rockets. Christopher loved to share his passion with his children and grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on July 10, 2021 at 11:00am at Life Source Church, 350 Stafford Street, Cherry Valley. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks https://www.autismspeaks.org/donate-to-autism-speaks
