Claire M. Dumas

SPENCER: Claire M. Dumas, 85, died Wednesday, July 15th at the Christopher House of Worcester. She leaves a sister-in-law, Sue Dumas of Hampton, VA. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Dumas in 2020. Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Alfred G. & Rosalda (Gaudette) Dumas. She graduated from the former Anna Maria College in Paxton and then went on to receive her master's degree in French from the Laval University in Quebec, Canada. She taught French at Southbridge High School for 32 years, retiring in 2001. A Memorial Graveside will take place in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer at a later date and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Claire's name may be made to the Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer, MA 01562. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
