SPENCER: Cynthia F. Marshall,71, of Spencer, died Wednesday, June 28th at her home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
She leaves her husband, Kevin J. Huard, her brother; John J. Marshall, Jr. and his wife Patricia and her mother Mary Tasca of Cumberland, RI., her nephew; Christopher J. Marshall and his wife Katie Fitzgerald, her niece; Katie Tougas and her husband Ian, great nephew; Edward Fitzgerald Marshall and a great niece; Grace Patricia Marshall, her godson; Joshua Sroka and his wife Melody Zaehainger of Saratoga Springs, NY., Mary Ellen Pogue, a dear friend who was like her sister; her brother in law; Brian Huard, her best friends; Martha Berthiaume, Debbie Bledsoe,Cheryll Catallozzi and Dailaine Dos Reis, her caring neighbors & friends, Amy and Doug Paul, Gail Lacaire, her home health care providers, Angela & Grant Finne, her two mini schnauzers, Jake and Bailey and countless other friends.
Cynthia was an Xray technician at UMASS Memorial Healthcare in Worcester for many years prior to her retirement.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John J. and Olive L. (Watson) Marshall and later graduated from David Prouty High School in 1970. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology at Northeastern University in Boston.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family at Matunuck Beach in RI. She was an avid snow skier and runner. She participated in bringing in many national sports and entertainment celebrities with her husband's company Yesterdays Legends. She became good friends with many stars, especially Cindy Williams from the TV show "Laverne & Shirley". Over the years she found enjoyment from riding motorcycles and motorhoming. She also loved music and enjoyed going to see her favorite band "The Eagles" live at a concert with Kevin.
The family would like to thank the many special caregivers and friends, who provided care for Cynthia at her home over the years, especially the Overlook Hospice Program. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 10th. from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Memorial Mass at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be held in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Second Chance Animal Services, P.O. Box 136, E.Brookfield, MA 01515 or the Food Pantry at Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, 46 Maple St., Spencer, MA 01562. A Celebration of her Life will follow from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the Spencer Country Inn, Rte. 9, Spencer.
