LEICESTER; David J. Egan, 48, of 2 Chesnar Dr., Cherry Valley, a section of Leicester, died Wednesday, September 12 at his home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 23 years, Susan A. (Butkiewicus) Egan, a son, Ryan D. Egan and a daughter, Arielle M. Egan both of Cherry Valley, his parents, Albert J. & Audrey E. (Olmsted) Egan of Nashua, NH, a brother, Michael T. Egan and his wife Christine of Manchester, NH, a sister, Carolann Egan of Nashua, NH, a grandson, Rowan J. Egan and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Egan was born in Nashua, NH. He was graduate of Nashua High School Class of 82' and attended WPI in Worcester where he played basketball and tennis at both schools.

He was an inventory operations manager for 15 years and previously worked at Iron Age Co. in MA. He was a member of the Toast Masters in Worcester. He coached basketball at Becker College in Leicester for several years and ran the Youth Hoop Program in Worcester. He was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church in Leicester.

David was always the first to volunteer when someone was in need. He was very kind and caring and had a wonderful positive attitude. He enjoyed so much, spending time with his family.

The Funeral will be Monday, September 17, from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-3 P.M. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
