LEICESTER: Delbert R. Archer, 85, of Leicester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Webster Manor Rehabilitation.

He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret E. (Wyatt) Archer; his daughters, Cheryl A. Rivers and her husband, Richard, and Marnie M. Beaton of Leicester; his son, Delbert R. Archer, Jr. and his wife, Annette, of Texas; his grandchildren, Matthew L. Archer and his wife, Marie, of Holland, Sarah, Rachel, Timothy, Amanda, Cody, and Amanda Joyce; his great-grandchildren, Silas and Titus, with another great-grandchild on the way; and a dear family friend, Jay. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister.

Delbert was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Howard P. and Jennie J. (Welsh) Archer. He lived in Ware before making his home in Leicester, where he resided for the past eight years. He worked in box manufacturing at Cascades in Palmer for 26 years before retiring.

Delbert was a man of deep faith, and his beliefs remained an important and guiding part of his life. He enjoyed fishing and watching football, boxing, and western movies, especially on one of his many big-screen televisions. He loved collecting all sorts of unique treasures and interesting finds, and his family often joked that many of these had actually been "borrowed" from them over the years.

He will be greatly missed, but those who loved him take comfort in knowing he is at peace.

Private services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
