MONSON: Diane L. (Fortin) Pollier, 58, of Gates Street died Wednesday, April 29 in UMass Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She leaves a son Michael Pollier and his wife Rachel of Spencer, a daughter Michelle Meloche and her husband Jeremy of East Brookfield, a sister Linda M. Small of Kilmarnock, VA, three grandchildren who were her constant source of pride and joy; Lincoln, Lila & Gabriel, her partner and friend of 13 years Douglas Koziol of Ware and her kitts Trina & Reese and her dog Roxie Hope who provided companionship and special comfort throughout her journey.
Diane was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul N. and Marjorie A. (Betts) Fortin. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and later received her BSN from Saint Joseph's College in Maine. She worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1987 in many nursing roles, currently she was an area Office Nurse in Worcester. She was a member of the Executive Board and Union where she negotiated contracts for the Union and also served as Union Chairperson for Region 2 for several years. She was a member of the Monson Garden Club. She loved traveling and taking trips to Italy, Florida, North Carolina and Maine. She enjoyed gardening, spending time at the beach and listening to the piano. Her children and their families were her greatest treasures, especially her grandchildren who always received two kisses.
A celebration of Diane's life will be held Thursday, May 7 at 4:00 PM in Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant Street, Rochdale. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
