Dolores A. Cote

LEICESTER: Dolores A. (Palmieri) Cote, 88, of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, passed away on Sunday, August 9th, at The Lutheran Home in Worcester. She was the wife of Edward F. Cote, Sr., who passed away in 1999. She is survived by her son, Edward F. Cote, Jr., and his wife Michelle of Leicester, her sisters, Shirley Bodo and her husband Richard, and Patricia Carlson and her husband Robert, all of Auburn, MA, a son-in-law, Scott Chase of Oxford, MA, her grandchildren, Kimberly Patterson, Angela Apol, Benjamin Cote, and Spencer Cote, great-grandchildren, Kailey, Noel, Beau, Macy, Max, Aden, and Mark, and a great-great-granddaughter, Oakley, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Chase, and brother, James Palmieri.

Born in Worcester on February 11, 1938, Dolores was the daughter of James Palmieri and Malvina (Mezinski) Garriepy.

Dolores graduated from Commerce High School in 1956 and then from Saltus Secretarial School in 1957, both located in Worcester, MA.

Her early work career began in Worcester, where she started as a Soda Jerk in 1954 at the Slater Building. Dolores then moved on to Hanrahan Insurance in 1957 before working at Haddad Restaurant Supply in 1958. She next took a position as the Assistant Treasurer in the Town of Leicester from 1978 until her retirement in 2002.

Dolores cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved cooking and was a devoted New England Patriots fan, especially a big fan of Tom Brady. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were her favorite game shows, and she never missed a season of Dancing with the Stars.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14th, at 11 a.m. at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, located at 1131 Main St., Leicester. There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday before the service. After the service, Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Mausoleum in Worcester.
