Donald W. Nussey

SPENCER: Donald W. Nussey,89, of Spencer, died Sunday, May 24th in UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Nancy M. (Grize) Nussey, his sons; Alan D. Nussey and his wife Kimberly of Spencer, and Craig E. Nussey and his wife Kathy of Spencer, his daughter; Denise J. Schlegel and her husband Wayne of No. Brookfield, his brother; David Nussey and his wife Diane of Spencer, his sister; Mareita Lanagan and her husband John of Worcester, 9 grandchildren; Amelia, Victoria, Deitrich, Lydia, and Claudia Schlegel, Cole and Dale Nussey, Lauren and Jonathan Nussey, 2 great grandchildren; Easton and Elton Vayo, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother; Stanley Nussey, his sister Shirley Rose and his grandson; Nicholas Nussey.

Don worked at Norton Co., Worcester in the large wheel division, Plant 8 for 29 years, retiring in 1988.

He was born in Holyoke, the son of William E. and Evelyn M. (Peddie) Nussey and later served his country with the US Navy. He was an 18-year member of the Spencer Fire Dept., retiring as a Lieutenant. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at UMASS Medical Center (3 Lakeside ICU) for their incredible care and compassion for Don while he was a patient.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd. at 11 a.m. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, from 5 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Fire Dept. Relief Fund, 11 Dewey St., Spencer, 01562 or to a charity of choice.
