Donald L. Sottak

WORCESTER; Donald L. Sottak, 82, of 22 Benjamin Rd., died Thursday, February 12 at Millbury Health Care Center. He was the husband of Marie B. (LaCroix) Sottak who died in 2008.
He leaves a son Michael W. Sottak and his wife Toni of Turks & Caicos, U.S. British West Indies, a daughter Patricia C. Murphy and her husband Wayne of Gilford, N.H., two step-sons; William J. Wood, Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL., John F. "Jake" Wood and his wife Lee'Ann of Leicester, a step-daughter, Patricia M. Southard and her husband Thomas of Rochdale, a sister, Barbara Backstrom of Worcester, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Roche) Sottak in 1985, a son, Paul Sottak in 1999, 3 brothers, Sherman, Jude and Paul Sottak, and 2 sisters; Beverly Johnson and Kay Southard.
Born in Leicester he was the son of Paul & Viola (Niles) Sottak.
Mr. Sottak was a salesman at McNeil Auto Paint in Worcester for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a graduate of Leicester High School. He served his country in the Navy during WW II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Leicester, a past member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks, the "Hillcrest C.C. Growlers" and the Tatnuck Island Club in Worcester.
The funeral will be held Monday, February 16 from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 759 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-5 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester.
