EAST BROOKFIELD/SPENCER; Dorothy P. (Shepperson) Cycz-Laventure, 86, of 101 Bay Path Rd., East Brookfield, died Thursday, September, 23 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester.

She was the wife of Kenneth E. Laventure who died in 1994.

She leaves a son; Peter Cycz and his wife Annette of Spencer, a daughter, Suzanne Fritze and her husband Ronald of Spencer, a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Laventure of Spencer, 9 grandchildren, Kregg and Theresa Fritze, Brett and Kim Fritze, Keith and Michelle Fritze, Deborah and Michael Lussier, Cheryl and Norman Reid, Scott Cycz, Jeffrey and Michele Laventure, Kenneth and Stephanie Laventure and Jason Laventure, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Cycz and a daughter, Maryann Cycz both in 1946 and a son, William Laventure in 2010.

Mrs. Laventure was born in Spencer the daughter of Arthur & Nora (Foster) Shepperson and lived most of her life in Spencer before moving to East Brookfield in 1980. She attended David Prouty High School in Spencer and was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Spencer. She was an avid knitter, crotchetier and gardener.

The Funeral will be held Saturday, September 25 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA. 01609.
