SPENCER: Duncan E. Ober, 78, of Spencer, died suddenly, Sunday Jan. 12th in Wilmington, Del., on their way to Myrtle Beach, SC.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Gloria A. (Holland) Ober, his sons; Richard D. Ober and Andrew S. Ober and his wife Elena all of Pacifica, Calif., his daughters; Sandra L. Dorsey and her husband Todd of Rutland, and Susan M. Lee and her husband Brian of Paxton, two brothers; Stuart Ober and his partner Elizabeth of Eliot, ME., and Randall Ober and his wife Anke of Pittsburg, PA., his grandchildren; Kevin, Laura, Katelyn, Mario, Brandon and Soraia, and his great granddaughters Emily and Olivia.
He was born in Akron, OH., the son of Harry E. and Nancy (Mowry) Ober and graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Worcester Junior College.
Duncan worked for Norton Co., now Saint-Gobain Mfg. in Worcester for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
Duncan was an avid camper and a Dale Earnhardt fan and followed NASCAR for many years. "Paw" enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren and was devoted to his cats. Duncan will be remembered for his friendly and social demeanor. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 17th. at 11 a.m. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the services on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private and at a later date.
