Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Hodgerney) Choiniere

SOUTHBRIDGE; Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Hodgerney) Choiniere, 76, of 25 Randolph St., died Wednesday, January 5 at her home after an illness.

She was the wife of Leo H. Choiniere who died in 1997.

She leaves six daughters; Donna Fillion of Dudley, Cheryl Willis and her husband Rick of Hampden, Lori Godin and her husband Roger of Spencer, Lisa Gosselin and her husband Gerry of Southbridge, Tami St. Jean and her husband Kevin of Spencer, Susan Welcom of Charlton, a sister Nancy Santos and her husband Joseph of Three Rivers, 16 grandchildren; Casey, Jaime, Ryan, Leo, Amanda, Michael, Nicholas, Sara, Zachariah, Griffin, Erica, Kelly, Deb "Rocks", Tami, Jamie, Jimmy, 10 great-grandchildren; Micah, Reagan Jane, Troy, Tyler, Emily, Loriauna, Chloe, Ella, Lyllyan, Sophie Rose and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Harry Hodgerney of Spencer in 2009.

Born in Spencer she was the daughter of Leslie & Mary E. (Albro) Hodgerney.

Mrs. Choiniere worked in accounting at Hanover Insurance in Worcester, retiring in 1992. She was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer. She served her country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

The light of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A great-grandson Andrew is due to arrive in March. She enjoyed spending time at the casino and vacationing at Hampton Beach with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 22 from 1-4 P.M. at the home of Roger and Lori Godin, 28 Marble Rd., Spencer. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
