Elizabeth A. Gonzalez

SPENCER: Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Gonzalez, 87, of Spencer MA, passed away at home on 19 March 2024 after a brief illness.

Born April 20, 1936, in Waltham MA to Rose and Milton Stinehour, she was a longtime resident of Spencer MA with many ties within the greater community. She lived a remarkable life marked by a determination to overcome life's obstacles, support her family and to hold true to her faith. Betty earned her Masters degree in Social Work and behavioral science, where she was a licensed social work counselor for years helping many clients deal with alcohol and substance abuse with a faith-based practice. She was affectionately known by many in her church family and was a member of quilting and gardening clubs. Steadfast in faith, she was an active member of the Holden Chapel and The Living Word Church in Worcester. Betty enjoyed choir, Bible studies, and extended her compassion through local ministries, neighborhood, and community advocacy.

Betty is survived by four children: Sarrah Al-Gharabally of Kuwait, Kuwait, Linda Gregoire and
her husband John of Spencer, MA, Brian Foley and his wife Debrah of Yorktown, VA, and Lisa
Checkoway and her husband Eric of North Andover, MA. She was blessed with six grandchildren; Jessie Gregoire and wife Jannah, Matthew Gregoire, Abdulla and Nejaht Al- Gharabally, Logan Foley and Lauren Allen and her husband Zach; and four great-grandchildren, Jameson, Oliver, Isabella, and Nayvie. Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband Rick, daughter Susan Foley and her grandson Abdulla Al-Gharabally.

The family invites friends and loved ones to attend a graveside burial service Saturday, April
20th at 12pm at Evergreen Cemetery East Brookfield, MA. The J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr, Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
