Evelyn A. (Engstrom) Gustafson Bannon,89, of 748 Stafford St., in
the Rochdale section of Leicester, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Hubbard
Regional Hospital in Webster.
She was the wife of Russell J. Bannon who died in 1994. Her first husband
Richard E. Gustafson died in 1971. She leaves three daughters Audrey E.
Wright and her husband Bill Culpepper of Rochdale, Marilyn A. Thibeault of
Brookfield and Marilyn T. Barry of Stoneham, a brother Russell Engstrom of
Rochdale, two sisters Muriel Dube of Leicester and Eleanor Williams of Brant
Lake, N.Y., 15 grand, 24 great grand and two great great grand children,
many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Vera Seymour who
died last December.
She graduated from South High in Worcester and attended No.Oxford Baptist
Church and the Greenville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bannon was a nurse's aide at the Washburn House in Worcester before
retiring in 1981. Along with her late husband, they operated a dairy farm in
Rochdale for many years.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Carl and Aina A. (Ericsson)
Engstom.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 4 at 10 a.m. in the
Greenville Baptist Church, 680 Pleasant St., Rochdale. Burial will follow in
Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Friday, Mar. 3 from 5 to
7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes
Foundation, N.E. Chapter, 20 Walnut St.,Suite 318, Wellesley Hills, Ma.
02481. MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, Ma. is
directing arrangements.
