Evelyn A. Herring

Evelyn A. (Greenhalge) Herring, 86, of 1073 Main Street died Tuesday, June 1 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Her husband Lester M. Herring died in 1978. She leaves two daughters Shirley Ann Sprague of West Yarmouth, Judith L. Marsh of Spencer, eight grandchildren David, Steven & Marc Sprague, Laurie Grabowski, Pamela Ostrout, Patricia Roberts, Robert Marsh and Marc Dumais, fifteen great-grandchildren, extended grandchildren Lisa M. Sprague, Tom Petrie and James Grabowski, a sister-in-law Marie Greenhalge of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Janice M. Dumais, a son-in-law Eugene N. Sprague, a brother Howard Greenhalge and a sister Shirley M. Fournier.

Mrs. Herring was born in Worcester, daughter of Howard J. and Ora E. (Allard)Greenhalge. She graduated from Charlton High School. She worked in the invoice audit department for many years at the Zayre Corp. in Worcester and after retiring she worked part time at Russell Manufacturing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Cape Cod and Maine.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 4 at 11:00 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Street, Leicester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Charlton Federated Church Capital Fund, Main Street, Charlton, MA 01507.
