Florine A. Girard

Florine A. (Vary) Girard,100, of Pine St., slipped quietly away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at her daughter's home in Webster where she had been living the last three months.She was the wife of Ernest G. Girard who died in 1969. She leaves two daughters L.Louise Foley of Webster and Ernestine A. "Teena" and her husband Donald Cherry of Leicester, three grandchildren Donald Cherry, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Leicester, Michaela June and her husband David of Natick, and Michael Cherry and his close friend Jennifer of Queens, N.Y., three great grandchildren Christopher, Matthew and Meagan Cherry all of Leicester and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece Joyce Sweet. She is predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.Mrs. Girard was an inspector at MKM Woolen Mills in Rochdale before retiring in 1950. She was the oldest member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church. She enjoyed crocheting.Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Aimee and Marie Louise (Grenier) Vary and lived in Southbridge, Auburn and Leicester where she lived the past 55 years.The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 20 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge.
