Obituary

WEST BROOKFIELD: Heinz J. Reisbeck, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026. His wife Eva (Culp) Reisbeck predeceased him. Heinz leaves behind the family he was so proud to have built after coming to the United States; his daughters, Sylvia L. Freeman of Paxton; Susanne B. Fortier and her husband Joseph of Rindge, NH; and Cindy E. Sterczala and her husband Stephen of Spencer; along with three grandchildren, six great‑grandchildren, his sisters, Helga Duffner of Germany and Mary Youtsey of Utah, several nieces and nephews and many friends who will sadly miss him.

Heinz was born in Stuttgart, West Germany the son of the late Karl F. and Emma (Eckart) Reisbeck and grew up in Kornwestheim. In Germany he studied upholstery at the local trade school before immigrating to the United States in 1962 with his mother, step-father Gerald and his youngest sister. He spent his early summers working as a lifeguard before becoming employed at Selig Manufacturing Company. Several years later he became a supervisor at David Clark in Worcester where he worked until his retirement in 2010.

Heinz loved family gatherings, a good BBQ, and weekend adventures in his VW bus, filling it with kids and laughter on trips to beaches, amusement parks, and scenic drives — especially along the Mohawk Trail.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
