LEICESTER: Jadwiga (Ozak) Griffiths, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31st in St. Vincent Hospital, after a brief illness with her family by her side.
Jadwiga leaves her children Jeffrey T. Griffiths of Charlton, Michelle K. Bello of Worcester, Scott Griffiths and his wife, Marianne, of Leicester and Timothy M. Griffiths of Leicester; 6 grandchildren Heidi and Anthony Bello, Daniel and Michael Griffiths, and Sam and Mason Griffiths; many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She is predeceased by her parents Stanley and Maria (Zienko) Ozak, her brother John, and her sisters Helen, Theresa, and Dorothy.
Jadwiga worked at Norton Company (Saint Gobain) for 29 years retiring in 2005. Prior to that she was a waitress at T. O. Flynn's and the Wind Tiki. She was extremely proud of her heritage having survived a concentration camp in Poland during WWII, and managed to make it to America with her parents and siblings. The biggest enjoyment of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting, as well as trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life in honor of Jadwiga on Saturday, August 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Country Club located at 323 Pleasant St, Leicester. The MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is assisting with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leicester High School Booster Club at P.O. Box 494, Leicester, MA 01524.
