Janet H. (Hull) Lamb, of 918 Old Main Street, passed away
peacefully Saturday, March 18 surrounded by her family members and longtime
canine companion "Walker".
Janet was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent her childhood in Derby,
CT. She attended and was a graduate of Colby Junior College, New London,
New Hampshire. She was employed for several years as a book reviewer. In
1969, she graduated from David Hall Fanning School of Practical Nursing, in
Worcester. She was employed as a nurse at Worcester City Hospital for many
years. Following that she was instrumental in implementing the Urgent Care
Department at Fallon Clinic.
Janet was an active member of several Leicester organizations. She and
her late husband David were instrumental in organizing the first Leicester
Historical Society. She was involved with the Leicester Friends of the
Library Society, the Women's Club and the Leicester Senior Center. Janet
loved to travel, read , eat chocolates, wear glitzy shoes and spend time
with her beloved family.
She is survived by a son Harold W. Lamb, III of Leicester, two daughters
Nancy H. Lamb of Leicester and Margaret R. Lamb and her husband Patrick
Quarry of Montreal, Canada, and a nephew Roger Hull of Chicago. She is
pre-deceased by her husband David A. Lamb in 1994, a son David A. Lamb, Jr.
and a daughter Barbara Jane Lamb both in 1973.
A Memorial Service for Janet will he held at the Leicester Federated
Church, 2 Washburn Square, Leicester on Wednesday, March 22 at 11:00 AM. A
graveside service will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. At her
request there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to
