Janet A. Martin

STURBRIDGE/ROCHDALE: Janet A. (O'Brien) Martin, 87, of Sturbridge and formerly of Rochdale, a woman of deep faith, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 61 years, Robert M. Martin passed away in 2016.

She is survived by her children, David R. Martin and his wife, Linda of N.Brookfield, Ronald S. Martin of Rochdale, Steven P. Martin and his wife, Karen of Holland, and Allison L. Martin and her wife, Dawn of Leicester; her special friend, Joseph W. Darcy; her God son, Paul Janaitis and his wife, Hope; her former daughter-in-law, Donna Mae Jones and her husband, Rev. Richard Jones; 11 grandchildren, Joel, Laura, Megan, Abigail, Keith, Jeremy, Cheryl, Jeffrey, Kayla, Kyle and Joshua; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert O'Brien and 4 grandchildren, Thomas Ryan, Jessica Lee, Elissa Lynne and Michael Richard.

Janet was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Robert and Arlene (Lanois) O'Brien. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend to many. Janet worked tirelessly in various roles to support her family, retiring in 1994 as a claims investigator for All American Insurance Co. Among her diverse interests, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, puzzles, and playing cards with friends. Janet also taught American Sign Language and took great joy in helping others.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 10th, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:30 p.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester.
