SPENCER: Jean D. (Means) Roy, 81, of Spencer, died Monday, June 1st. in Quaboag Nursing & Rehabilitation, West Brookfield after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Dennis P. Roy, her sons; John Roy of Grafton, and David Roy and his wife Corinne of Spencer, her brothers; Sonny Means and his wife Jane of CA, Robert Means and his wife Sheryl of E.Brookfield and James Means and his wife Anita of Holden, her sisters; Dolores Bal and her husband Valentine of GA, Marge Mellentine and her husband Charles of CA and Joy Glynn and her husband John of Dudley, three grandchildren; Brandon and his wife Jill, Jillian and her husband Joe, Michael and his partner Katie, three great grandchildren; Hudson, Lucas and Isabella, godchildren; John Glynn and Megan Flynn, many beloved nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by sons; Dennis Roy, Jr. & Michael Roy, and her brother; Jeffrey Means. Jean worked at Masterman's in Auburn before retiring in 2003.She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Dale E. and Vitela (Prokopovich) Means. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and was a New England Patriots & Red Sox Fan. She was a former member of the Spencer Garden Club and the Gaudette-Kirk Post American Legion Auxiliary. At the family's request burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer will be at the convenience of the family. Services are private.
