Joan M. Beando

LEICESTER; Joan M. (Granger) Beando, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, while at Holden Rehabilitation Center.

Born in 1942, Joan was proudly raised in West Boylston, the daughter of Raymond O. and Mary A. (Wrenn) Granger. Joan was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late William L. Beando who died last year.

She leaves her five children: Jeannine Maynard (Michael), Philip Beando, Barbara Knight, Stephen Beando, and Bryan Beando (Amber Gully) all of Leicester, as well as 8 grandchildren to whom she was a devoted "Gigi": Brittany, Harrison, and Emma Knight; Nicholas, LCpl Michael, and Braden Beando; Isabelle and Valerie Maynard. She also leaves three siblings and their spouses, Raymond Granger Jr. (Carol), Margaret Townsend (John Curtin), and Janet Herrmann; and her best childhood friend, Carolyn Harlow. She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Sydney Maynard, and brother, Thomas J. Granger.

Joan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her favorite role was being "Gigi" to her grandchildren and their friends. She dedicated her life to her family and she will be forever loved and sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements have been made with the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 10 am in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
