SPENCER: Joanne M. (Dilling) O'Coin,76, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Aug. 21st. in Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Wilfred R. O'Coin, her son; Kevin M. O'Coin and her daughter; Kim M. Snyder and her husband David, all of Spencer, her sisters; Gayle P. Dallas, Louise A. Meyerdierks and her husband Michael, Nancy J. McComas and her husband William and Jane B. Foresteire and her husband Edward all of Spencer, 4 grandchildren; Jessica L. Snyder, Travis J. Snyder, Douglas E. Shea, Jr. and Emma L. Snyder and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister; Donna A. Marrs in 1998.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Bernard E. and Pauline J. (Leger) Dilling. Joanne graduated from David Prouty High School in 1965. She was employed by Paul Revere Insurance Company of Worcester and later was a rural mail carrier for the Spencer Post Office for 28 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends, playing and watching sports and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Jewish Healthcare, especially her nurse Tom Bain, for the compassionate care of Joanne at their facility.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29th. at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Per Joanne's request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Hospice Care, 646 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609 or the Food Pantry @ Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, 46 Maple St., Spencer, 01562. The J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements for the family.
