John A. Evers

Jan 14, 1961 — Oct 2, 2026

Cherry Valley

CHERRY VALLEY: John Arthur Evers, 65, of Cherry Valley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2026.

John was born on January 14, 1961, in Fitchburg, MA, to the late John F. and Joan L. (Crowley) Evers.

John leaves his beloved wife of 47 years, Julie L. (Johnson) Evers; his children, Jeanette M. Evers of Cherry Valley, MA, and John F. Evers and his wife, Kimberlyn, of Woodstock, CT; and his cherished grandsons, Elijah Evers, Isaiah Boateng, and Benjamin Evers. John also leaves his sister, Deborah Evers, and her husband, Carl, and his brother, Kevin Evers, all of Leominster, MA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Evers.

After attending Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1978. It was while serving in the Navy in Bremerton, WA, that he met the love of his life, Julie. They were married in 1979 and shortly after, were blessed with their two children, Jeanette and John. In 1984, John was honorably discharged with MII Status and continued his education. In 1986, he obtained his Journeyman’s license and went on to become a Master Electrician in 2013. John spent the majority of his electrical career at Morgan’s Construction Company of Worcester and finished his career at Flexcon in Spencer.

When John wasn’t working, he valued the time spent with his family and dear friends, who he considered family. John loved music and always had it playing wherever he went. He also enjoyed camping with his family and always made sure his beloved dogs came along. John was an avid photographer and, as soon as the sun was shining, you could find him riding his Harley with Julie, his best friend, always by his side. His faith in Jesus transformed his life in recent years, and while John will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him, we take heart and find peace in the same Hope that he had.
