John P. McSherry

LEOMINSTER — John P. McSherry, 63, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8th, at UMass Memorial–Leominster Hospital after a brief illness. John will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his daughter, Kimberley McSherry of West Brookfield; his brother, David McSherry, and his wife Donna of Gastonia, NC; his sisters, Cheryl Hickman of East Brookfield, Barbara Shipman of East Burke, VT, JoAnn Schold and her husband Paul of East Burke, VT, and Kim Bergeron and her husband James of Spencer. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his brother, James McSherry III. 

Born in Worcester, John was the son of the late James C. McSherry Jr. and Josephine (Brown) McSherry. He graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, where he proudly participated in football and track. A gifted handyman and dedicated plumber, John spent many years helping others through his work, most recently with Quality Restorations. He had a natural ability to fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. John also had a passion for muscle cars, especially his beloved 1967 Ford Mustang, which brought him great pride and joy. He loved spending time saltwater fishing and enjoyed the freedom and peace that came with being near the water. 

John will be remembered for his hardworking nature, quiet strength, and the love he had for his family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the lives he touched. Private funeral services and burial at Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Services, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
