OXFORD: John P. Reidy, 59, of North Oxford, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 25th.He leaves his son; Michael Reidy of Westboro, his wife; Heather Reidy of North Oxford, his step children; James Rich, Brianna Rich of North Oxford, his brothers; Michael Reidy of Ft. Pierce, FL., James Reidy and his wife Joan of No.Brookfield, Mark Reidy and his wife Darleen of Marriottsville, MD., and Thomas Reidy of Ft. Pierce, FL., his sister; Kathleen Grady and her husband Richard of Ogunquit, ME., several nieces and nephews. John was born in Worcester, the son of James A. and Mary F. (Barry) Reidy and later graduated from Leicester High School, while excelling in basketball and football. Later in life , John could be seen playing golf on many of the local courses. John was quiet and kind, with a hearty laugh. He was an excellent father, and a great man. He shared his love of music with his son. He loved any and all animals, but especially his dogs. He was generous to a fault, including providing his parents with a trip to Ireland. John was a longtime fiber optics engineer and former owner of Lanmark Corp. in Auburn. A Patriots' season ticket holder, John was a true New England sports fan. John was a beautiful soul who will be sorely missed by those that loved him. Memorial calling hours are Thursday, April 3 from 5pm-7pm in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A graveside service to be held at 11am on Friday, April 4th in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
