LEICESTER: Johnny H. "John" Bailey, 89, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5th  in UMASS Memorial Hospital - Univ. Campus, after complications from an automobile accident a month ago.  His beloved wife of 59 years, Mary M. (DeNito) Bailey, passed away in 2017.

He is survived by his 3 children, John V. Bailey of Spencer, Deborah L. Bailey and her husband, David Evans of Sequim, WA, and Michael H. Bailey of Leicester; a sister, Linda Drummon of Georgia; 5 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Susan Harrison, Theresa Ruffin, Donald Bailey and James Bailey.

John was born in Thomaston, Georgia, son of the late John & Mary (Hammock) Bailey. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1954. John was an Army Korean War Veteran. He was a member and past Commander of the Gaudette Kirk Post 138 American Legion-Spencer. John worked as a butcher and was the manager of the meat department at the former King Supermarket. He then worked in quality control at Madison Wire & Cable Corp. in Worcester. John enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester, is assisting the family.
