EAST BROOKFIELD/SPENCER: Joseph E. DeCoff, I of East Brookfield
and formerly of Spencer, died suddenly, Thursday, June 22 at home. He
was the husband of Claire A. (Deshaies) DeCoff, who died in 2002. He
leaves his sons; Jude T. DeCoff, Sr. and his wife Carolyn of Lockport, NY.,
and Joseph E. DeCoff, II and his wife Cheryl of E. Brookfield with whom he
lived, his daughter; Darlene A. Conroy and her husband Vincent of West
Bridgewater, 7 grandchildren; Gabrielle Conroy Roderick, Jennifer DeCoff,
Jude T. DeCoff, Jr., Joseph DeCoff, III, Brenden DeCoff, Gabriel M. DeCoff
and Charlotte C. Decoff, a great grandson; Hylan DeCoff and several
nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son; Jeffrey P. DeCoff in
2013.
He was born in Wellesley, MA the son of John F. DeCoff.. Joe was raised
by a remarkable and wonderful mother Anna (Horne) DeCoff. He has 2
brothers; Donald DeCoff of Georgia and Hank DeCoff of Framingham, MA, and is predeceased by brothers;
Jacques "Jack" DeCoff of Blackstone and John DeCoff of
Manchester, NH and one sister, Margery Curran of Linwood,
MA.
He worked as a civilian employee for the U.S. Air Force Civil Service
Division at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Fl. Joe enjoyed
being active in local politics. He was a long- time resident of Spencer and
member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 11th. at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary
Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial with Military Honors will follow in
Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. The J.HENRI MORIN &
SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing
