CHARLTON: Karen L. (Sjogren) Currie,77, of Charlton, died Monday, June 16th at home following a long illness.
She leaves her daughters; Laurie A. Powers of Webster and Dawn M. Larson and her husband Robert of Charlton with whom she lived, her brother; Ronald Sjogren of Leicester, 4 grandchildren; Jonathan Olen, Tommy Housman, Benjamin Larson, and Olivia Larson, her great grandchildren; Adam, Lanora, Noah, Lyla and Alexandria. She is predeceased by her grandson; Sam Olen in 2024.
Karen was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edwin and Hazel (Barry) Sjogren. She was a longtime toll collector for the Mass. Turnpike Authority in Auburn, retiring in 2013.
She was a dedicated Mom and Nana.  Karen's life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was a great role model because of her strength, resilience and sense of humor.  She will be dearly missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 26th at 11 a.m. in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tenn., 38105 in which Karen was a longtime supporter.
