Karin M. Rhault

NO.BROOKFIELD: Karin Rhault, 85 of North Brookfield, passed away on December 21, 2025. Karin was born on November 16th,1940 in Bremerhaven Germany to Heinrich and Anna Schnieder, she was the last and the fourth daughter of the Schnieder household.

In the spring of 1959 at the young age of 19, she embarked on an adventure across the Atlantic Ocean to marry her fiancé, Alfred Ikey. During their 20 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children: William Ikey, Robert Ikey and Erika (Ikey) Rivers. In the summer of 1988, Karin met and married her true love and best friend of 23 years, Philip Rhault. During their time together they enjoyed bingo, bowling, dancing and camping trips that took them across the United States, until Philip's passing in 2011.

Though the passing of her loving husband was one of great sadness she continued with strength and resilience. Karin found comfort in cooking, cleaning, planting flowers, crocheting, knitting, volunteering at the North Brookfield Senior Center, meeting up with friends and spending time with her granddaughter, Elise Rivers. In July of 2022, Karin was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and moved to Sturbridge to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Andrew Rivers. She enjoyed being around her family and loved her Boxer grand pup's Buddy & Jasmine. In February of 2023 she moved to Brookhaven assisted living in West Brookfield.

Her memory will be forever cherished by the ones who knew her and heaven gained an exceptional angel on the first day of the Winter Solstice. A Memorial Service for Karin will be held on Friday, Jan. 9th. at 5 p.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. A calling hour will precede the service from 4 to 5 p.m.  Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton at the convenience of the family.
