Kathleen M. Beford

SPENCER: Kathleen M. Beford, 76, died Saturday, August 15, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, in Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 60 years, Pierre G. “Peter” Beford; a son, Chris Beford and his partner, Kathleen Kennedy, of Auburn; three daughters, Amy Kirouac and her husband, Ralph, of Spencer, Shannon Xanthos and her husband, Kieran, of Wilton, CT, and Lyn Beford of Spencer; eight grandchildren, Andrew and his wife, Heather, Mackenzie Xanthos and her partner, Cameron, Ryan, Skyler, Alex, Max, Sydnee and Jamison; and her longtime friends, Elaine Blood and Laura Torti. She was predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Leonard, William, and Conrad “Nonnie” Bernard.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Conrad A. and Terese M. (Small) Bernard.

Kathy previously worked at the former Fair Department Store in Spencer, Curves, and most recently, at the Spencer Town Hall as an election monitor. She was a member of the Spencer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 20th, at 11 a.m. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
