Kathleen P. "Kay" (Liberty) Fontaine

LEICESTER: Kathleen P. "Kay" (Liberty) Fontaine, 91, of Sconset Ave., died Friday, August 7th in Millbury Health Center after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Earl P. Fontaine who died in 2002. She leaves her daughter Mary A. McNamara and her husband Paul of Leicester, her five sons; James L. Fontaine and his wife Pamela of Kissimmee, Fl., Paul A. Fontaine and his wife Karen, Joseph E. Fontaine and his wife Michele all of Leicester, Timothy M. Fontaine and his wife Catherine of Leicester with whom she lived, and David S. Fontaine and his husband Jack Bergen of Walpole, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Alfred Liberty, Jr. and sisters Marie Early, Elizabeth Hennessey and Claire Grady.
For many years, Kay worked at Liberty Movers in Leicester, the company founded by her father.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Alfred Liberty, and Anne (Kennedy) Liberty and later graduated from the former St. Stephen's High School in Worcester. She was a prayerful and spiritual person and a long-time, faithful member of St. Joseph/St.Pius X Parish.
Kay's greatest joy was her family. She treasured the times everyone gathered together. She was an avid reader and a fierce competitor at Words With Friends. She found beauty in all things with a special love of flowers. Her windowsill orchid garden was prolific under her loving care. She had a passion for shopping which was evident in her classy appearance and the way she decorated her beautiful home. Her contagious laughter and loving presence will be much missed.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 11 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St.John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, August 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish, 759 Main St.or Nazareth Home for Boys, Mulberry St., Leicester, Ma. 01524.
