Lauren E. Chaffee

WORCESTER: Laurie E. (Huntoon) Chaffee, 62, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester.  She was surrounded by family and went peacefully.

On April 17,1961 an angel was born on the day of her passing she went to get her wings.  She was greeted by her son Ryan Chaffee, brother Richard Huntoon, and parents Warren G. and Mary E. (Gardner) Huntoon.

She leaves her husband of 40 years, Andrew G. Chaffee, her sons; Chad Chaffee of Lexington, MA, Adam Chaffee and his wife Katie of Worcester and Aaron Chaffee and his wife Hillary of Westwood, MA., her daughter; Katelyn Chaffee of Worcester, her brothers; Wayne Huntoon and his wife Carmen of Sterling, and John Huntoon and his wife Holly of Millbury, her sisters; Carol Smith and her husband David of Danielson, CT., and Susan Richards and her husband Paul of Worcester, 5 grandchildren; Gavin, Dylan, Makenzie, Cameron and Aiden, and her In-Laws Gurdon and Ann Chaffee of Rochdale, as well as several nieces and nephews, and friends. She was born in Worcester, and later graduated from Leicester High School in 1979. She attended the Fanning Hill Nursing School in Worcester. Laurie persevered and fought admirably through her last months, but the cancer could not be beat. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UMass for the care they provided. Laurie was an inspiration and an energy of love.

A funeral Mass for Laurie will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20th at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X. Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester are Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
