LEICESTER,MA./WASHBURN,ME.:Louis J. Benoit,88, formerly of 40 Peter Salem Rd., Leicester, died Thursday, Dec. 21 in Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, Me.
He was the husband of Beatrice T. (Rathbun) Benoit who died in 2001.
He leaves a daughter Barbara D. Drost and her husband Allen of Washburn, Me. with whom he lived for the past 2 years, a sister Rose Duncan of Auburn, Ma., 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Mr. Benoit was a machinist for 32 years at the former Rexnord Chain & Belt Co. of Auburn, Ma., before retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Pius X Church and the Leicester Senior Citizen Club.
Born in Leicester, he was the son of Henry and Merilda (Benjamin) Benoit.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will precede the funeral on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45a.m. in the funeral home.
