SPENCER; Lucille E. (Cassavant) Ela, 91, died Thursday, May 30 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, after a brief illness. She was the wife of David M. Ela, Sr. who died in 2016. She leaves her son David M. Ela, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Everett, her daughter, Virginia M. Ela of East Sandwich, her brother, Eugene Cassavant and his wife Phyllis of Shrewsbury, 6 grandchildren; David M. Ela, III and his wife Meta Ann, Victoria E. Panarese and her husband Jonathan, Michael F. Ela and his wife Ryan, David C. Snowdon, III and his wife Becca, Andrew W. Snowdon, Charles-Daniel B. Snowdon and his wife Jen, 12 great-grandchildren; Ryan, Kamden, Willow, Eleanor, Landon, Zella, Henry, Collin, Ivy, Cooper, Harrison and Hadley and a special niece, Patti Rose of Charlton. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Rene and Estelle (Stebbins) Cassavant. She graduated from South High in 1951, Worcester Art Museum School in 1969, Clark University with a BFA in 1972 and earned a Master's Degree from Assumption College in 1974. Lucille was the Coordinator of Art Program for the Hopedale Public Schools. A funeral service for Lucille will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. A calling hour will precede the services from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer.
