Marilyn M. Monahan

LEICESTER: Marilyn M. Monahan,85, formerly of 1075 Main St., Leicester, died Wednesday, Jan. 8th. in Quaboag Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, W.Brookfield.

She leaves her son, Scott Underwood of Ware, two grandchildren: Patrick and Kristopher Underwood. She is predeceased by her son; Francis M. Underwood of Maine in 2012, and her brother; James Monahan of Sturbridge. She also leaves her sister in law Christina Monahan of Sturbridge and nephew Nick Monahan of New Braintree.

Marilyn was a receptionist/administrative assistant for Christmas Tree Shops, Inc. in So.Yarmouth for 19 years prior to her retirement in 2005.She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Moriarty) Monahan and later graduated from the former Commerce High School in Worcester. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, Leicester Housing Tenants Association and served on the Council on Aging. She attended the Leicester Senior Center.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 13th from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. A calling period will be held prior to the Mass from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home on Monday.
