Mary Jane Brown

EAST BROOKFIELD: Mary Jane (Chagnon) Brown 100, of North Brookfield Rd., died Sunday, August 18 in Knollwood Nursing Center.

She was the wife of Ralph H. Brown who died in 1983. She leaves two grandchildren; Frances Jones and Charles Brown, 4 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a step son Ralph Brown who died in 1985, his wife Charlotte Brown resides in San Francisco. A brother Napoleon Chagnon and sisters Dorilla Perkins and Noella Rice all predeceased her.

Mary worked at Gavitt Wire in Brookfield for many years, retiring in 1978. Previously, she worked at the former Allen Squire Shoe Co. in Spencer.

Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of Albert and Telerise (Snay) Chagnon. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, and was very active with the Lashaway Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed sewing.

Mary's funeral will be held on Friday, August 23 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, No.Brookfield Rd., E.Brookfield. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, E.Brookfield. A calling hour will precede the funeral on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
