Mary E. (King) Garey

LEICESTER: Mary E. (King) Garey, 85, of McCarthy Ave., in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 10th.
She leaves her husband of 29 years, Victor R. Garey, her daughter Kathleen M. Hardy of Leicester, her son Kenneth E. Rossik of Virginia Beach, VA, two brothers Edward J. King, Jr. and his wife Irene of Leicester and Francis J. King of Palm Coast, FL, two sisters Barbara Gill of Lake Tahoe, NV, and Dorothy Reid of Paxton, 4 grandchildren, Shanna Strait Connor and Sandra Strait both of Leicester, Jessica Ketchum of San Diego, CA, Michael Rossik of Virginia Beach, VA, 7 great grandchildren, 2 step sons Steven and Erik Garey, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Robert and Richard King and a sister Ruth Hicks.
Mary worked at Smith Valve in Westboro for many years, retiring in 1993.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Ruth (Hutchinson) King, Sr. and lived here all of her life. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals and trips to Foxwoods.
A graveside service for Mary will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Mooreland Cemetery, 231 Richards Ave. (Rte 56 N.) in Paxton on Monday, March 20th. There are no calling hours. The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions be made to the Leicester Library Renovation Fund, 1136 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.
