SPENCER: Matthew J. MacGregor, 68, passed away on Tuesday, April 30th.
He leaves Roseanne (Saad) MacGregor, his daughters; Lauren MacGregor, and Stephanie MacGregor and her companion Brendan Harney, 3 grandchildren; Gloria Harney, Lilly Harney, and Stefeni Harney, two sisters; Amy MacConnell and Janet Lawrence, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his two brothers: Thomas MacGregor and Mark MacGregor, and his sister Judi Levens. He was born in Leicester, son of Everett MacGregor and Dorothy (Loughnane) Lawrence. He attended Leicester High School and Becker Jr. College. Matthew proudly served the United States Marine Corps from 1972-1975 during the Vietnam War. He also worked as a Quality Control Inspector for the former PresMet Corporation for many years.
Matthew had a great sense of humor and loved to crack jokes. He loved music and played harmonica and guitar for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors such as hunting and fishing. He also loved photography and always had a camera nearby to capture family moments or a beautiful sunrise. He was often found tinkering away at his work bench wood carving, making jewelry, painting, or making flies for fly fishing. Matthew was an avid reader and always had his nose in a book. Matthew faced life fearlessly regardless of his obstacles. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends who he cherished the most. He was a proud Marine, Father, and Grandfather. He will truly be missed by all who loved him. " Once a Marine, always a Marine ''
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
